Taste and See...Praising God

Hi Friends, I’m so glad you made it back to join me again! Let me begin by welcoming you to worship with me today, it’s great that we can be here together.

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been sharing in the stories of Jesus being the bread of life. The one who feeds us, nourishes us, and gives us strength.

Today’s gospel continues in John chapter 6 talking about Jesus as the bread of life, and so we look to the psalm of the day. Psalm 34 invites us into praising God and tasting and seeing that the Lord is good.

In times when we feel uncertain, anxious and weary, singing and praying through the Psalms helps to nourish us, draws us closer to God, and reminds us of the Jesus who is the bread of life for all and promises that if we believe in him, we will be fed.

This is a hard season of life regardless of where you are in the world.  So much around us is uncertain, so much changes on a daily basis for us and we feel all of that deeply.

So today as you dwell in the Psalm may you be fed and nourished, may you be uplifted and encouraged, may you know God who is with you every step of the way, and may you sing joyfully with hearts full of praise.

May you taste and see that the Lord is good and that the eternal promise remains.

Check out the song of the Psalmist below.

A Psalm For The Day

I wonder????

I wonder…What is your favourite thing to taste? Can you describe it?

I wonder…How does it make you feel when you take a bite into your favourite food?

Not only is Jesus a staple diet food for us, the bread of life, but this verse from Psalm 34 tells us that Jesus is more delicious than even your most favourite food.

What about something you absolutely can not stand the taste of?

I wonder…Have you thought of Jesus being more delicious than your favourite food?

I wonder…What do you think that means?

I wonder…what about the foods we don’t like?

I wonder…If Jesus is a staple food for us, the bread of life, that is more delicious than our favourite food, do you think Jesus makes even the flavours and foods we dislike the most tasty?

I wonder…how might we change our thinking to see Jesus as something delicious that nourishes and feeds us?

I wonder…Are you ready to explore the story more in the activities and extra stories below??

I am, let’s go!

Draw what you see when you hear these verses

Draw a picture today of the food you like the most and the food you like the least.

Word Puzzle

Hey friends,  thanks for spending time with me in worship today.  I hope you enjoyed praising God through the Psalm as much as I did!  I pray that this week when you feel hungry, that it reminds you of the ways in which Jesus promises to feed us, and you do stop to taste and see that the Lord is good.

Let’s do this again soon.  I wonder what story will be next.

God Bless!
