Welcome to this week’s episode of Tea With Two Revs, joining me for the second week in our Job series at the virtual coffee table today is Rev Linley Liersch from in my local neighbourhood! Today we find ourselves pondering the words and actions of Job’s 3 friends and Job’s words of lament in response to some of the things he is hearing from them.

Our readings from the lectionary for the week can be found here.

Don’t forget to check out other resources, links and more about Linley below.

This project focuses on making the gospel accessible, especially for our neurodiverse friends and God seekers. Today I’m thrilled to introduce downloadable transcripts! You will find the link in the “click and Explore” section below.

I know the hurt
Would all go away

This week’s new thing about Linley! ….
Linley is in the middle of moving 2 of her grown up kids out of the house! The question now is what to do with the room they leave…Craft or Lego? (We both agreed that it was appropriate to tell your kids that they may not always have a room with you, but there would always be a bed for them)

Born in rural Victoria, we had a farm at Raywood, I am and country girl at heart.
Raise in the city in the Glen Waverley UCA and youth groups were core to my growth as a young Christian. I am married to Barry Liersch who I met at the NCYC, now with two young adult children.
MOW with UCA, Currently working with PPW as Mission Development Strategist and Education discerning what the church of the future might look like.  On the staff of eLM (equipping Leaders for Mission).

When not working you will find me walking the dog Rusty or doing arts and craft. I like to art journal bible readings trying to express the layers of meaning in the Living Word of scripture. I read and watch TV for escapism so often are murder mysteries and whodunit’s. My favorite color is purple.

This is Linley’s second podcast and second episode with us! We are enjoying the journey together very much!

Howard Wallace Writes

There may be in Job and in this Psalm a note of comfort for people of faith, that biblical figures and even Christ himself have known what it is to feel abandoned by God, to ‘cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but find no rest’
(Ps 22:2) Recall’s God’s faithfulness.
